Ken Blanchard, author of The One Minute Manager and Servant Leadership, states “20 years ago leadership meant power – today it means empowering others.” The Gallup organization calls their most clarifying finding in its 80 year history, that managers are the most important influencers on an employers culture and organizations performance. The results from great managers are employees who have a thriving wellbeing which includes the alignment of an employees purpose and values with organizational objectives. Ultimately, great managers lead to higher employee engagement, employment retention and performance.

SETTING A FOUNDATION OF SELF-LEADERSHIP
The foundation of being a great manager begins with being a great self-leader in all aspects of their life. This is important because a manager’s primary message is not what they say but who they are. Vital leadership self-leadership training is based on what world-renowned business strategist Peter Drucker says is most important for a leader.

I am Jack Bastable and I love to help people develop into successful leaders by teaching and modeling the vital behaviors necessary for meaningful, high performance lives. I played pro baseball and have raised a bunch of kids (six children with 8 grandchildren and counting) with my wife while running successful businesses.
